Goals: Character development means developing capacities of mind, body, and spirit to better understand one’s responsibilities, to self, others, and community. Character Camp focuses on:

Acceptance of responsibility: The Accept the Challenge wristband is a powerful tool to remind students of how well they are living each day (each moment) with positive intention.

Self-knowledge: Each student will complete their own Character Camp Journal, which will explore such issues as: bullying, peer pressure, how to be proactive and how to set goals.

Compassion & Service (and Craftsmanship): Service is an active expression of valuing our common humanity and our diversity. Compassion is a heartfelt caring connection to each other and the world around us. Compassionate behaviors and a service ethic encompass both giving and receiving.

Our Adventure Activities will focus on:

  • Tenacity
  • Physical fitness
  • Teamwork
  • Leadership
  • The ability to go beyond self-imposed limitations
  • Self-reliance
